Which offset Steel Wheels

Featured Replies

I want to run some steel wheels with winter tyres my 2015 Yeti Elegance CR 170 manual. I have found some 16" wheels but the information on the site says either 45 or 50 offset is OK. Can someone tell me what this "offset" is or does and which is best suited.

Thanks

Mike

Request sent to Mods to move this to the Yeti General section, as this is not a Technical Guide, which is what this section is for.

And in answer, this is a thread that will have the answer for you:

Tim has listed everything that is correct for the Yeti.

For 16" wheels I was told ET50 with 6J rims (6" wide) or ET45 with 7J rims (7" wide) keeps the track width correct but the thread above has as much info as you should need. It is the offset or distance that the centreline of the wheel rim and tyre is offset relative to the hub face so affects the distance between the wheels across the axle.

Thanks guys, I'll go have a look, sorry for not looking properly in the first place.
