Wheel Bolt Size

Featured Replies

Morning Folks, I'm after some information.

Can anyone tell me please, the size of the wheel Bolts from a Octavia MKIII Tdi Vrs. i.e. Length, tread size, socket size or anyother relevant information. I might be buying some Team Dynamic wheels off a cetain member on here and I need " Taper Bolts as the OEM bolts won't fit.

Thanks

AG

They are M14x1.5 with 60degree taper, not sure on the standard length but I can check when I get home (my standard bolts are with my summer wheels) but I'm sure someone else will know

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the OEM bolt has a radius seat? I have some tapered seat bolts which look different to the OEM ones.

I believe them to be M14x1.5 thread and 28mm long. 17mm socket.

Mine definitely has taper seat bolts as I had to buy radius seat bolts for my winter Audi wheels

OEM bolts are radius, most aftermarket wheels are taper, which is what the TDs need, and they are 28mm

The OEM bolts on my Gemini wheels were NOT radius they were taper. You may need different length bolts for your team dynamics though.

Very unusual for standard VAG wheels

Oook then *embarrassed face* they are indeed radius bolts, they appear to have a different radius to the aftermarket longer bolts u have though, a bigger rad. My bad, sorry for the miss information.

My standard bolts are m14x1.5 radius seat and have 25mm of thread. So you should need the same but with 60 degree taper seat depending on how deep the wheel bolt holes are

Having got a MK7 Golf & two sets of Team dynamic alloys..............defo 28mm long taper M14 x 1.5

However...................some of there alloys require slim "tuner" style bolts as the pockets are too narrow for standard 17mm head bolts...............

....also be aware that ceratin plastic spigot rings will not fit the hub properly& the wheel will drop 1mm behind the "olive/rib" on the hub flange.....................the spigot rings need to be 10mm thick/deep on the inside edge closest to the hub flange (on the 57.1mm bore side)..............

Pro Race 1.2s take normal size bolt heads, they don't require tuner bolts

I know I've got a set...................& a set of PR3's..................... :p

Just that the wheel model was not specified....one of my mates has got a set of TD alloys (can't remember which one) & they only take the tuner slim bolts............

That's just wheely-waving

Told you so ;)

Told you so ;)

I even bought a set of 60 degree taper bolts that were longer for my Geminis as the bolts for the Audi wheels looked different to the ones I removed... Not sure what I drinking that day.
