Trading in my well loved but simply too small (We are also replacing our 6 yr old Superb Hatch this month) Fabia VRS, mustve got one of the good ones as its been a joy to own with no issues apart from corroding wheels (expecting the same issue with the mk3 Octy)

Will be nice to get back into an Octy as I did love our VRS PD170 hatch that we owned for 6 years

Nice spec RichF....I have to confess Im a little envious of this kind of thread...considered a TSI vRS but lumped for a diesel Elegance and whilst its a good car ive always regretted the decision a bit.

Also somewhat fond of the Mk2 vRS Fabia...i had an 11 reg estate from new (well was the wifes then i inherrited it)....at the time moaned like buggery that it wasnt very comfortable as a mile muncher, had wayward handling and poor brakes and was also quite poor on fuel....but now i see it as characterful and I do rather miss it now....was my own little funny looking "widowmaker" and rather individual.....ive lost count of the number of Octavia Elegances ive seen on the road this past few weeks they are literally everywhere!

Only thing I will say is I hope you plan on holding onto it for a while, from experience the Mk3 Octavia is by far the worst depreciator of the three Skodas I have owned recently (the Fabia and a Mk2 Octavia vRS Blackline)....I have up until now tended to change the car at 1 year/18 months and cannot see that being a possibility with this one until its at least two years old...TBF (I dont know how youve funded it) but 0% finance and very little down up front havent helped my cause!

Enjoy when it turns up though, 220hp will be fun!

Its the first car I have ever pcp'd, got a good deal and the 2.8% apr interest made it a no brainer really. I put a bit on HP with the Fabia but the interest was more than offset by the three year maintenance plan that came free with VW finance.

Wasnt planning on changing really , we normally keep our cars 6 years and since I have a second car I only do about 5,000 per year in the Fabia but our main family car (Superb Mk2) is 6 years old shortly and on 85,000 miles and the wife wanted a new car. I tried to get her in a Yeti but she hated it , so she chose a new Prius which arrives on Mar 1st , with losing our one and only "big" car the Fabia had to go:(

Someone will get a cracking used Fabia VRS though , its been well loved from new and has a few decent mods and loads of history, mind you the same could be said for our Superb as thats been a corker as well

Mine arrives in the country this week apparently (ordered Nov 14) ready for me to take delivery in March:

Race Blue TSI DSG vRS Estate

Black design pack plus wth 19" Xtremes

Canton

Columbus

Leather / Heated seats

Winter pack

Folding / dimming mirrors

Cornering fogs

Double sided boot floor.

Forced into changing to a DSG really due to a back injury (using the clutch can be painful!) but very much looking forward to getting the new beast - someone in turn will get an immaculate mk2 Manual Blackline Estate wit not a mark on it!!

Brooksuk. Amazing spec. I am still contemplating a Mk3 or a Golf R. Did you get a good deal over the list price if you don't mind me asking.

Certainly did thanks. Went to the dealer having done my research on prices available via Carfile etc and the dealer matched it. So far, I'm very impressed with them, been getting weekly updates since November!!

I've got a Race Blue + black pack TSI hatch coming (at Grimsby now), and I bought the reg BR15 KVR (BRISK VR s).

I wanted BR15 KRS (BRISK RS) but someone in Birmingham beat me to it!

Nice plates - was thinking of private plates for the wife's scout - SC15 OUT was available last week but she wants something she could have on different car, I was thinking MO15 TLY but she didn't like that either (and it's not available!)

I was surprised it was available but wanted a 15 VRS plate , we have a pair of matching plates on our other cars but I would have had to buy an older plate to stay with the theme so opted for something different

Sorry Richf, just realised I'm stealing your "moment", didn't mean to  :(

Yeah VRS is a good plate to have. The scout we've got ordered is a lease car so we'd have to take the plate off in three years time and it might not be a scout we get then, so didn't work really. We'd considered older plates also but the wife's never had brand new car, so wants to show off a little bit with the 15 plate thing when it comes.

Anyway as butch says, not to steal your thread - hope you get it in the next few days, you'll love it.
