Hi to all

Hi to all the folks here,

Just purchasing my second Skoda in the last 10 years. Had an Octavia 1.9TDI Mk 1, loved it. Was looking at the estate at the time but was so impressed with with the bootspace went for the hatchback instead. After many years great driving went for my dream a VW Passat Est 1.9 TDI (B5). Really nice car but MPG was c**p compared to my old Octavia. So now just bought an Octavia Scout, I like the body styling, but hoping the MPG will be not too bad with the rear drive. Looking forward to getting lots of tips and info on my new motor.

Cheers all.

Welcome to Briskoda. Which version of the Scout have you bought? :)

Hi DGW, As far as i know they only did two versions, both 2.0 TDI, but different BHP 140 and 170, mine is the 140. Doesn't have all the extras i have seen in the handbooks but it is  a nice looking machine.

Incidentally it does not seem to have the same ooompf as my passat 1.9 tdi 130 BHP, is that because it is 4x4?

Must say your 1.8TSI is a beaut. Shame i'm a 60 yr old pensioner, with no money.

The difference in performance may be down to extra weight and drag, but the Haldex drive will give you traction which the Passat never could. Enjoy. :)
