Hello!

Having sold me mk2 cr tdi vrs last week :-( I am now the owner of a 04 plate 99k mk1 vrs! It seems that the car has had some Ecu tinkering already, and I am going to attempt to find out what it's had done. It also has groves and drilled discs and ebc red stuff pads. Ive sources a secondhand Blueflame car back exhaust and now to finish off am probably going to go with a k n n induction kit!post-119919-0-43960500-1423070800_thumb.jpg

If you're intending to put a K&N cone filter on you''ll lose bhp unless it's a CAI set up.

Nice, welcome. As said above be wary of cones, I don't even trust a heat shield much. If you can get it down below the headlight rock on. I went through the options and ended up saving pounds and modifying the oem airbox and getting 3" pipe down to the cold air and my existing panel filter. Other CAI kits look good like the ramair one and pipercross viper with the enclosed filters, you can still run an extended large diameter pipe into those. Just be wary of the brackets they supply, make sure whatever you get is well secured as it can make the MAF throw a wobbly. Anyway I'm waffling now, only wanted to say hello.

K&N or Green panel filter has always worked for me.

A mkiv mapped 1.8T I used to own actually lost 6bhp with a K&N with heatshield against the standard filter & box on the dyno. It sounded faster with the cone though :wall:

Plus one for a good panel, mines a pipercross. If you modify the box and open up the intake for a pipe you get a slightly lower note, sounds even more like a cone if you drill holes in the bottom. I didn't drill it, just took fins out the bottom section, you can defin the top as well. I've read people got similar gains following a remap with a box, panel and pipe to the lower end enclosed CAI kits, maybe even better due to the surface area of the panel.

Welcome :)

Welcome along buddy. You got the fastest colour too!! Looks good.

Heya Nixd. Welcome to the fold! Nice ride too, they do look good in silver I must say.

It's great to find someone keeping the faith with these old cars. They're pretty special old buses though and we must keep them all going no matter what, right?!

Enjoy the forums, I have made some friends on here, and have had LOTS of help. We're all very friendly and only a few of us bite :)

Welcome.

Welcome to team silver [emoji1]

Looks like a proper tidy one too - well done. How are you finding the brakes with red stuff?

Some of my best cars were yellow haha. Just to complete the relational circle of life and keep equality balanced I've had 2 silver Seats.
