Yeti spec and options questions

Featured Replies

My new Yeti 1.2TSI DSG Outdoor Elegance is currently sitting at the dealership pending my taking delivery on 2 March. I was sent a photo of it today and the dealer emailed me at my request with a printout of the Vehicle Data so that I can check the 208 options fitted or otherwise. I have some queries about the following options (PR numbers).

The front brakes are: 1ZF - Disc brakes, front (Geomet D). However 9U0 - Without brake pad wear indication is also listed. Does the 1.2TSI really lack a brake wear indication unlike other models?

I ordered LED rear lights. The only likely option code I can find is: 8TF - Rear fog lights, left and right. Does that mean both rear fog lights illuminate, unlike all other Skoda models?

Presumably I7A - MIB Standard PQ radio Plus EU/ROW is the latest version of the Bolero? QV3 - Digital radio reception is also present along with UI4 - Electric interface for external use, AUX-IN, USB (iPod-capable).

I was relieved to see that AV0 - Driving on the left is accompanied by L0R - Right-hand drive vehicle.

Middle one - No, only the OSR fog light will light.

And Denis, only Freedom members are allowed to advertise things for sale.

Denis is an ex-mod and honorary status so selling is fine I am sure.  He has earned the right.

You'll notice he has merely linked to an advert he has already put in Cars for Sale correctly.  Something honoraries can do. :)

Then my apologies, I didn't know that.

Basically we get what we're given, thank goodness!

Is that still the case for F/L models with LED lights?

I was overtaken by some clot on a very clear and dry M62 on Monday night in a new Yeti who was doing his best to dazzle everyone behind with both his rear fog lights on - rear sidelights lights appeared to be LED, though I think the fogs were incandescent bulbs.

Interesting if they have changed it.

The LED rear lights unit I think are a con, as the only bulbs that are LED's are the rear side and brake. The flashers, reverse and rear fog are still incandescent bulbs.

I have a new Yeti with LEDs and only the offside high intensity is working.

Thanks for that.

So someone must have done a "fix" on the one I saw with 2 working.

If the spec says rear fog lights left and right, then arguably that is what the car should have. I will report back once I have been to see the car.

I have LED rear lights - and only have foglamp on the driver's side.

And yes, the LEDs are a bit of a con.

My LEDs are only the tail lights. all the others; offside fog, reverse, indicators and brakes are filament bulbs.

LED Tail lights but NOT brake!

Separate bulbs obviously........I thought they would be dual filament.

Yes, that has just surprised me!

So the latest brochure describes them thus: 'LED rear lights. The rear light clusters, featuring two rear bands of light in the characteristic ŠKODA ‘C’ shape, can be enhanced with LED technology. Standard on Laurin & Klement.' In the Factory Fitted Optional Equipment list some pages later they are standard on the Monte Carlo too. And in my car's Options list the only reference to the rear lights is 'Rear Fog lights, Left and Right' - which should include the caveat that only one is activated according to sales market.

Confusing or what?! I am disappointed to be getting so little for the £150 I paid, but at least I didn't pay the new price of £200. Thanks to all who have helped clarify what I can expect.

As the young would put it.......wtf

I thought the taillights were LED.

What a confusing mishmash of gobbledygook!

They must be LED or how would the canbus deal with it?

Yes, the rear "side" lights are LED's.

All the others are "normal" bulbs.

Either there is a resistor in the relevant circuit or a new "byte" in the ECU to cope.

Oh dear!

Why make life that difficult ?.

Just think when you are driving or reversing you can't see them.

Agreed. But you can feel them through the seat of your pants ;)

Well atleast we now have a definitive answer to what is LED and what isn't, and which rear fog illuminates.

Thank you.

And thanks from me too. That is what I thought I was paying for when I ordered LEDs. :)

Walking away from the car tonight before the lights went out I had a smug grin that the LED rear lights looked so good and "crisp" :sun:

Also love the bendy "Bi-Xenon" , "Puddle" and "Ambiance" lights
