Product Enhancement

Featured Replies

Just had an email from the supplying dealer to advise there's a 'product enhancement' for the accelerator pedal, anyone else had this or have a clue what's involved. It came with power steering one but Chris Green has kindly posted info on that.

The car is a 2014 Rapid Spaceback TDi

Assume it's just a metal / ally pedal cover?

Not heard about a pedal modification yet - I'm popping into my dealer on Tuesday so will enquire about it, see if I can get any more info.

It's not an enhancement in the sense of making it more up market/improving it. It's an 'enhancement' to rectify a design/functional fault so that it does what its meant to.  They're hardly likely to say that we need to see your car to correct a mistake.

Thought they might cover it in glitter than blow over it with some clearcoat.  Couldn't think of any other enhancement LOL

They should admit to the need for a suspension enhancement that's for sure… and one for the bl**dy window switches!

Erm - what's wrong with your suspension and window switches?

One touch up on all windows and Eibachs as standard [emoji106]

One touch up is nothing to do with the switches as such, that's more an ECU software issue. As for suspension, not seeing the issue there? The Spaceback already has revised suspension over the notchback Rapid.

It's more a hatchback thing and not the Spaceback. Although that looks like it's on stilts too [emoji57]

The Rapid misses out on such minuscule details. Hopefully these future updates will make it a better car [emoji6](sort of)

The Rapid hatch and Toledo both got the suspension upgrades shortly after the Spaceback launched, so any built late 2013 onwards have the improved suspension without the free bone shaking ride.

Back on topic I believe there are already accelerator enhancements available from SHARK or REVO. :D

You shouldn't be reading this. :peek:

Isn't it worrying that when a manufacturer gets its product to do what it's meant to do. they call it an enhancement?

An accelerator enhancement. .. I think this is spin for A major potential issue for failure of the throttle pedal.

It gets stuck full on  :wall:  :giggle:

  • 2 weeks later...

First service today. 2 "" enhancements"" acceleration pedal and power steering.

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm worried now.. Should I take mine in or will I be notified? I'm not the original owner it was bought through a skoda dealership as an second hand car. 2013 elegance? Any suggestions?

Seat dealers are not notifying customers of the same 2 issues on the Toledo.

If it's a safety issue there should be a recall notice on the VOSA website, but there isn't.

Clearly VAG believe sticky accelerators don't have safety implications.
