Electric Diagram for Octavia 2007

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am having trouble with my front screen washer on my Octavia. It's a periodic fault, where it some times decides not to work. When it does decide to not work, it stays "offline" quite some time, and comes back after the engine has been powered down for some time. Mostly it's the front windows pump that's failing, but sometimes the pump for the front light fails as well. In addition, the heat for the front seats fails simultaniously. That is, when the washing pump is not working, neither does the heating in the front seats.

I have been trying to find electical diagram on the internet without luck. The fuses are checked, and I have tried to read out diagnostics with a ELM 327 together with various apps on android (no errors appears).

Could anyone point me in the direction to look for next? Or provide electrical scematic? I have checked autodata, but that only contains scematic for the engine management.

The information is available using ERWIN. You will first need to complete the registration process, after which you can buy access for one hour, one day or even longer. The second option is far more than long enough to download all the workshop manual information you need for your specific car, including current flow diagrams.

Thank you for the feedback and tips Dennis!
I logged on to erwin this morning and downloaded the current flow diagrams, which pointed me further towards the issue.

What I've been able to figure out is that the X-contact relief relay did not activate, thus not supplying voltage to the seats nor the windshield washer.

However, fixing that issue gave back the heating in the seats, but the relay for the washer pump does not activate. The pump for front lights never were an issue, as it turns out that it does only activate every fifth time I wash (as long as I'm activating the washer rapidly after each other).

So, my next question would be: Does anyone know if there is any smart logic preventing the relay to be activated due to, lets say a broken wire at B183 in the attached schematic?

If that's the case, I'll try to measure the pump. If someone knows that that's not the case, then I'll have to change my on board power supply control unit.

Finally figured out the fault. Bad contact on the fuseholder for the front window washer, and a bad relay in those cases where both window washer and seat heating disappeared.

It turns out that the on board power supply control unit uses the 12v coming in on T6a to activate the relay. Without that, no 12v to the pump, and no 12v to the relay.

Thank you for posting the solution, Vidar.  It may help someone else in the future.  :)
