Featured Replies

Just bought an Octy vrs, and there's a green button in the glove box. Does anyone have any ideas what it's for?

If only that were true. Lol.

Be even better if it were a mute button for SWMBO. Sorry I know I'm not helping, I don't know if I've got one in mine, don't think I have. Does it look factory fitted or aftermarket?

And what happens if you press it?

Could be someone has put in a switch to disable the passenger airbag for when a child seat is in the front.

Easy to take out the glovebox to see where the wires go.

Tried it and nothing I'm aware of happened. Are these in all VRS Octys?

Maybe it's like that film, The box. Where a couple are given a million dollars to press a button to kill a random stranger somewhere. You sir have probably kill a person with your button pushing. How do you sleep at nite? :bandit:

The button is not standard, without tracing the wiring there is no way to know what it controls.

Looks like you have the " Up Graded Button ", the Original ones were Red

These are the ones that are in line with new environmental regulations.

Does it latch or just spring back?

Hmm... Will have to try tracing the wire then. Was hoping someone would have a similar button setup...

Ive seen a similiar in a ford escort. It broke connection to the starter motor. Have you tried starting the car with the button pressed in?

No I've not tried that, what would be the purpose in having that setup?

We all know where the Anti Theft Device is now

Has someone glued a milk bottle lid in there to mess with your mind? [emoji1] sorry not helpful.

As above get the glovebox out and trace the wiring (if any).

And get on with it, I won't sleep tonight unless I find out what this button is for, the suspense is killing me.

You're telling me haha, I suppose I'll have to try tracing the wires then if there are no further suggestions?

Not an ex-police job is it?
