Hi can anyone help me please? My windscreen wipers have started to play up over the last month. When they are on they will suddenly stop - either on intermitent wiper or usual speed then they will start up again. They will then be ok for a while and then stop, or if I have turned them off they sometimes will not start. At first this just seemed to be on intermitent wipe, but now it is on both intermitient and ordinary speed. Also at first nothing would work - no speeds front or back wiper. Each time it has gone into the garage everythinhg is working!  Garage has checked fuses- all Ok, wiring as much as possible. Changed the switch and still have problems. Now it is thought that the problem is with the onboard control unit.

Has anyone else had this problem at all? Also do you know where I can get a second hand one if that is the problem - new costs £280 plus vat

Car is a 2003 1.2 HTP fabia classic.

Try cleaning the microswitch in the bonnet latch, it can cause wipers to play up
