EML light, fault code 19586 (vRS)

Featured Replies

Hi chaps and chapesses,

A few weeks ago the fabia's eml light came on with no symptoms apart from a slight high pitch whistle at idle, so carried on until i bought an ebay special fault code reader which flagged up the code 19586. I know its something egr related, has anyone had this before and how did they sort the bugger??

Thanks

Not working as it should (is clogged up?)

Are the vacuum pipes intact?

Or a boost leak

And to fix these...

1) if it's due to EGR being clogged (clean it)

2) if it's boost leak (locate it and fix accordingly)

3) if egr broke (replace with second hand one or delete it with a kit)

yeah i think its pretty clean in there tbh, i'll check again soon. The car definitely has a boost leak somewhere, can't seem to find it though. I'm in this 3rd year at uni dilemma of not having time to fix myself and not having the money to get someone else to do it!! even when studying automotive engineering......
