rota grid drift and offsets HELP.

Featured Replies

Hi, Ive been looking at rota grid drifts.

I've found some 5x100 to 5x114.3 25mm adaptors,

And the wheels are 16x7 et40 and 16x8 et10

I have 205 45 16 tyres.

Will this work?

Any help will be much appreciated.

ET10 - 25mm from the spacers adapters gives you -15mm offset on 8" wide wheels? Unless I've got something the wrong way around no that won't work on a Fabia...

Ok thanks buddy :-D

Sorry but could you explain why it won't work as I really don't understand this offset malarkey.

Thanks.

The lower the offset, the more the wheel will stick out from the arches.

So let's say an 8j wheel with et 30 sits perfectly flush with the outer wheel arch, if the same 8j wheel had an offset of 20 it would stick out an extra 10mm

They would stick out too far... unless you plan to install a wide arch kit. Oh and your tyres, 205 on a 8" rim is very stretched, your tyre place would probably refuse to install them for you.

Go to a wheel shop and buy wheels with the correct offset (around 30 if you want them to sit near flush with the arches) and width (7") for the car...

The plan is to give it more stance if I have to have the arches pulled and tyres stretched then so be it. I've had 195 tyres on 8j before so 8j won't be too bad.

But thanks for the help

I have run a 205 on a 9j wheel and the stretch wasn't bad at all, so you'll be ok on that front.

But those Rotas just won't fit and would require more than just your arches pulling.

Ah ok, so 'stance' trumps all? Gotcha. I'm out.

Wtf lol

Welcome to the world of balanced and reasoned discussion that is Briskoda (I'm actually being serious...). Though there are many modified Fabias here, not all follow the path of the Dub look.

There is a wheels on Fabias topic hovering around somewhere in the Fbaia MK1 forum. Maybe have a nose over there at what's been done.

Grid drifts have already been done, and they way you'll make it work is by getting a 5x100 set

Forget the 5x114.3 with adapters it will just be ridiculous.

They don't make 16" 5x100 I've phoned everywhere pal

someone had grids.

these were a ridiculous 9.5J though

proof that a 9.5j definitly doesnt go well on a fab vrs

backs would be ok with 10mm spacers instead of 20mm's but the front are rediculous

and they would be better with 215/35/18's on

just thought i'd give it a try, if anyone else was goin to try it i'd advise 8j or 8.5j on the front and lots of lows
