Karcher foam lance vs. Autobrite

Featured Replies

So,

I purchased the Karcher foam lance depicted below for use with a K2 pressure washer:

Considering this is a marketing photograph (from halfords, probably from Karcher), the foam doesn't seem to be dwelling, and when i used it it only seemed to dwell for 30 seconds, if that, with a rather thin bubbly foam. It did not shift the 'sandy rain' type dirt from the side of the car.

So, it could be the demon foam I'm using, but given images I've seen on here I decided it was the gun. No matter how I adjusted it it wouldn't improve. As I bought it from amazon, I returned it and bought the autobrite gun for £18 more.

I've not used it yet, but it fells like a better piece of kit, and definitely worth the extra money. I'll report back, I feel I've made the right choice upgrading.

It should be much better, 1" of foam & fill it up just over halfway with warm water is plenty to do a full car. Enjoy

The autobrite is the better than one I got off ebay but looks similar. I always make sure I run it with no foam solution left In the bottle at the end to rinse all the chemicals out of the lance before putting it away-hopefully that will stop the gauze filter from getting clogged witn old foam etc.

Ive tried this Karcher one...Nothing like as good as the 'Real thing' (Autobrite)

As soon as you try it, you will see

I use 1" of product to the rest with water...Gives anice foam..not too thick (Less is more..I find)

Then I Snow Foam again after a powerwash off and use the Wash Pad and TBM along side my prefered Car Shampoo

^^^Good idea Chris. Hadn't thought of that!

So, the AB gun produces a much better foam, and more dirt appears to have been removed. Went round afterwards with a wash mitt, and struggled to reach the middle of the roof being height impaired. I've seem microfiber noodle 'mops' in the £1 stores which might help - they were rather good for sugar soaping the kitchen ceiling. I used some old blue turtle wash wax stuff - cleaned the alloys up a treat, 'neat' with a wheel brush.

Only problem is . . . .  the car is dirty again!!  :dull:
