What vcds upgrades should I get dealer to do on monte?

Featured Replies

Going to look at a Pre-registered Monte Black Edition tomorrow. I dont know what features I can enable myself on the maxidot. If I should make a deal on it I  just wondered what useful features i should  try and get the dealer to do on vcds. Don't know what is available to do on these cars. I have heard about the needle sweep and that sounds interesting, but any other ideas would be appreciated. Cheers.

I have:

Anti hijack - doors lock above 10mph and unlock when key is taken out of the ignition.

Teardrop wipe - wipers wipe 4 times on using washer jets, then about 10 seconds later they wipe again.

Indicator flash - I have 5 flashes on short press of the indicator instead of 3.

Needle sweep or 'staging' - as it says really.

Power steering assist - I have mine on 2 which is heavier than the 4 that is set as default.

Large MPH display - they probably won't do this, changing the language to Australia and then playing with settings to have large MPH display in the maxidot.

'Beep' on lock/unlock - again as it says. Octavia had this and really missed it. Not overly keen of the Fabia's 'beep', sounds very aftermarket. But works nonetheless.

There are more which can be done. They seem to be the most common. Your dealer may or may not do them depending on whether they know how to or not etc.

Not all of the above is available has to be a certain Cluster for needle sweep

Dealers do not have VCDS, the official system (VAS) is in some ways more limited. There are things you can do with VCDS you can't do with VAS and vice versa.

Different dealers seem to show variable interest in doing "tweaks" to cars.

OK, thanks guys. I'll give them a try and see how willing they are to do anything.
