Constant "Bluetooth Connecting" when mobile not there

Featured Replies

Small problem started today and I cannot see a similar one on the forum.

Yesterday I was out on the road and had my Samsung phone on Bluetooth and linked to the system.

Today only doing short journeys and to save mobile battery, switched the Mobile Bluetooth off

The car has standard Bolero sound system.

Now the the system is constantly looking for the phone.

It is in my pocket and it is not coming out to play, but it still searches constantly!

How do I stop it doing it, without going to the garage on Monday and looking like a right Numpty?

Why does it matter? Just set the screen to show something else, like the speedo.

A well reasoned answer.

Has that screen always been doing that then?

I will go and try it.........

When you start the car it will automatically try and reconnect to the last device it was connected to regardless of the status of the phone itself.

Okay. That has got rid of the distraction.

Just to continue my Numpty mode...... Has it always been looking for my mobile after the first connection?

Surely it is clever enough to realise the Mobile is not in the vicinity and call the posse back home?

Yea, it will search indefinitely in the background. Just in case your phone was dead when you got in the car, you plugged it in to the cigarette lighter to charge, 5 mins later it boots up and connects (or any other possible scenario where the phone is not immediately available - valet brings your car round from the hotel car park, car sits waiting for you for a few mins while you are checking out at reception).

Many thanks JoseDB and Mannyo.

I can understand you answers/solutions but still think the software is a bit lightweight.

I think the reality is 99% of owners have the screen set to show the speedo or sat nav directions or MPG or whatever, not the phone info all the time - so most users will never notice it searching if they happen to not have their phone on them.

You can always manage Phone options (ike Bluetooth) under Phone, as per Page 21 of Infotainment Navigation Amundsen Owner's Manual
