Roof Bars

Featured Replies

Looking to fit some roof bars to my Mk III Vrs Hatchback.

Thule seems to be the way to go, just wondered how these differ from the Skoda roof bars.

Does the Thule system utilise the Fitting Points as shown in the Skoda manual or does it just clip under the rim?

Cheers.

At a guess. If there anything like the mk1 fabia set I have the skoda branded bars are made by Thule anyway. So buy whichever is easier to obtain or cheaper to buy

There are a number of different fitting systems for different needs from Thule, go direct on their site.

Pop in to your local Halfords they will have all the information on roof bars fitting kit etc etc.

I'd just buy the skoda ones, stick an alert on eBay for a set being listed and you should come up trumps

Have a look at Atera roof bars. I have had a set of aero's for 7 years, still look brand new and are much cheaper than Thule.

Will do, thanks.

I've got a thule system for my snowboard & skis. (no complaints so far, solidly built & easy to use)

I got them from this site (recommend from another thread on here) which has a "kit finder", just enter the make & model of your car.

I ordered the Aerobars from Amazon.de because they were much cheaper but got the key matching service for the other parts from RoofRacks.

Provided you buy the kit with adjustable feet, I'd hope they would fit to most similarly sized cars with factory roofbars if you were to sell the Octavia.

Edit:
I just realised you don't have the bars fitted as standard (hence the question - doh) but anyhow a good site..
