Good products, got all my lances from DirectHoses, great quality pieces of kits without being ripped off. Enjoy

  • I've only used the autobrite foam from the group buy (think magifoam-banana one??) Wasn't that impressed, maybe I was expecting too much? Car chem doing 5ltr for a tenner, which I bought after recomme

  • Great, my plan right now is the Nilfisk C110 @ £60 inc. VAT and delivery.   A snow foam lance with Alto adaptor from Direct Hose's at £25.   Then I might try this @ £10.20 + £4.99 shipping = £15.1

I have a nilfisk and bought the autobrite lance on the group buy. I actually got the 5L size, but TBH I'm not overly impressed with it. I use Valetpro as my normal one but have also got some carchem too which I rate especially as it was on offer (think it still is?). As a curve ball you could get some powermaxed tfr and buy a garden sprayer to apply for a tenner off amazon, but you'd still need the nilfisk to wash it off.

It's still on offer Chris. I quite like it. It doesn't seem to dwell on my drive as long as the others.Cheers Ade

Thanks for being polite and replying Ade

I now have a Trade account at Power Max...so my next Snow Foam purchase will be through them.

Very very impressed with their products and faultless service

Fair enough Chris, my mis sorry...I thought you were after some. I have 25L of powermaxed tfr too as you know, but haven't had chance to try it by itself yet other than adding it to snowfoam which seems to improve things.

TBH Ade...The TFR is so good I might just apply it with my SF lance ...It will do a good job on its own..I just need to get the dilution rates right

How much in a 1 litre bottle do you think?

I've got both a Nilfisk C110 and a Karcher K2 compact. Both are very good, but the Nilfisk is my preferred one due to better build quality. They also do a dedicated car washing nozzle for it which I highly recommend. The K2 Compact is smaller though so if space is a real premium, that might help.

Snow foam lance: I have an Autobrite HD lance, it's OK. However I recently bought new foam lances for both pressure washers from Direct Hoses, which I think are better and come with a more robust bottle.

Snow foam: big fan of Autosmart UltraMousse. Car Chem snow foam is also good, but I find that company a pain in the arse to deal with when things get damaged in transit, which they do a lot as a Car Chem is to cheap/lazy to package things properly for shipping. Also take a look at the snowfoam from 50Cal Detailing. Good cleaning power and very thick, so good for use in winter when the car is caked in salt.

Please, DO NOT BUY FROM MAINZ - any company run by a guy who tried to rip off a charity does not need your business - ever.

I've found the BH Auto Foam on eBay for £21.25 delivered from Opie Oils of all people!

IIRC the postage is the same no matter how much stuff you get from car chem. We will help if you're stuck for ideas!

Yes - flat rate shipping from car chem so do use it as a chance to stock up. Shampoo, glass cleaner, deicer, air freshener etc - all good products from them I can vouch for. Just watch out for damaged containers on arrival is all.

Some intersting developments from Power Maxed in the future Ade ...You wont be disappointed

Might be worth a look here for your snow foam...especially if you want other items with it.

Good find, £15.60 + £5.95 = £21.55 which is a little more than Opie Oils (£21.25), but like you say the secret here is to make the most of the flat rate shipping price and fill the basket with other bits and bobs!

Tempting price, but hit with high shipping costs...

Haven't looked into the p&p charges as of yet but the best way to negate the cost is to as you said, fill the shopping basket up.

I always wait until I need multiple items or look for the best overall price if I need something desperately.

Just to add Ultimate Finish have free delivery on orders over £30, i'm sure they sell Bilt-Hamber.

I tried 1:10 in the sf bottle yesterday. Didn't shift too much. I'm guessing the sf lance dilutes it further (that's why your asking)?

Put 1:10 in the sprayer and that was much better. How do you calculate dilution rates with a sf lance?

That is indeed why I was asking Andy

The way they work adds more dilution as it goes to a certain extent

I guess some experimentation is in order

Yes you are right it used to be £30, not sure when they bumped it up. Shame but I guess they had to due to rising cost's ect.

All sorted, ordered this morning, thanks for the help everyone!

In the end I went:

Nilfisk C110.4-5 from Clean Store for £59.98 inc. VAT and shipping...

http://www.cleanstore.co.uk/products/Product.asp?ID=7424

7424a.JPG

The snow foam lance from Direct Hose's, £25.00 + £5.00 shipping - 5% Detailers World discount (EBAY213) = £28.75...

alto_and_sizes_foamlance_grande.jpg?v=13

And finally some Bilt Hamber Auto Foam snow foam from Opie Oils via their eBay site at £21.25 inc. delivery...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181240947517?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

So for £109.98 I should be ready to go next weekend!

I like the look of the longer and stronger hoses on Direct Hose's website, this might be something I'll look at after I've lost my temper trying to keep the standard Nilfisk one kink free  :D

Nice one - you will have a lot of fun playing with that lot.

The Nilfisk is out of stock (despite showing as "7 available" when I ordered).

10 days until they are back in stock and can be dispatched  :'(
