Fuel filler cap not shutting.

Featured Replies

As per title my fuel cap won't clip shut as normally would. Any common problems to look at?

Also took a couple of pics inside so you can see.

Behind the rear light is a cable which has the clip for the cap. Just push it back in the hole and you're done.

:)

So remove the trim on the right hand side in the boot as though you were changing a bulb and you'll see it :)

Ok shall try that tomorrow then [emoji1]

You push it in and turn to lock it, should that not work too well pull the cable up a bit to effectively wedge it in place.

Turn to lock what? Mine just pushes in to close and releases with a pull switch to the right of the drivers seat.

to lock the cable in place, ie the reason it isn't locking closed. the end of the cable has a spring and a black surround (you turn the surround once its in place to 'lock' the cable in the right place) or something like that lol, its usually dark and i'm frustrated with it by that point. haha

the end of the cable should poke through the hole in your second pic.

All is clear once you pull back the carpet on the right side of the boot.  :)
