Fabia 1 factory fitted ms 402 radio

Featured Replies

i have posted previously, have he'd 2 radios in the lifetime of the car, they both would not store stations.

i want it to be original so am looking to replace ad keep it fitted with another ms402.

my question is there any checks i can make before fitting another radio, so i know the faults have been with the radios etc

i have frequently removed battery to charge, did this cause the problems ?

i now have a brand new battery, want to make sure all is ok before going ahead

are there any codes which need resetting, i ask because i do not know

I hVE SEEN MS402 RADIOS ON eBAY ETC, BUT HAVE NO CODES, IS THIS A PROBLEM ?

thanks in advance

Did you ever swap the switched live and permanent live.

Seems as if radio loses perm live and thus loses radio station settings

And removing battery will lose radio settings

Hi

The original wiring has never been touched, i have only ever plugged at the back of the radio to change it for the other ms402 i have.

I have been the owner from new

I am mystified why this is happening and would appreciate anyones help on this.

I still have one of  those (from previous car) in good condition in the loft & security codes I think.............

yes.......I'll need to make sure that it works all ok as it was when I took it out of the car back in march 2008! It has been stored in the box for the other stereo in the back bedroom wardrobe as I just went looking for it in the loft & didn't find it!..doh!

I also have the original Skoda instructions & yes the security codes...............stereo looks like new TBH!.........
