I need advice.Škoda Fabia.1.9.TDI ATD 2004. A few days ago, at start-up, working on three cylinders, the engine shakes, increased consumption ... We changed the fuel filter, clean the tank but still the same.VCDS is pointed to by the first does not work cylinder number 2, then the cylinder number 1, 3 and 4.Auto now working normally after 5 minutes, 4 cylinder.

I have two questions. Are they corrupt all four nozzles on the engine or theirs an electronic installation? Are these symptoms of faulty installation of electronic injectors?

My bet is the wiring loom for the injectors,  What was the exact fault code please?

 

PS: The mechanical side of the injectors rarely fails, but the wiring loom inside the head can break down and eventually causes misfires and electrical faults on VCDS.  Been there, done that.....

VCDS doesn't see any fault.Just with off working with cylinders.

I hope its wires.Seems to me is cheeper repair.

which to me means VCDS was telling you something was wrong, but you say now it doesn't see faults?  It must have seen something?  Did engine light come on?

Check Engine light is present about 2 and a half year and it marks intermittent EGR fault.Every time when is VCDS connected they point different cylinder fault:first time(2. cylinder doesnt work,second time 1. cylinder doesnt work,and yesterday 3.and later 4. cylinder).

Is that means that electonic (wires) instalation to nozzles is broken?

I would like to see full vcds fault code for cylinders not working, but if it says anything about electrical, most likely is loom in the head for four injectors

I take it this is one of a Pompe Duse or "Common Rail" engine? If so, then yes I'd agree that this looks like a wiring or injector control fault.

 

Slightly o/t but pretty much no-one will give you a hard time for "English as a Second Language" here beyond asking for clarification of something we didn't understand.
