Dilemma

Featured Replies

Okay guys, after  my test drive of the new Fabia I've decided to keep the Monte and spend some cash on her. I'm in the process of finding a good company to wrap her in 3M Gloss Kiwi or Hexis Ecotac plus E3376M. Next was a leather refit (if money was no object RS4 seats) but maybe just a seat surgeons retrim. The real dilemma is do I keep the Eibach -40mm springs or go airbags? if so what would you recommend? I'm leaning towards a D2 system but will take advice from those in the  know, or should I save the cash and wait for a hot MK3 Fabia?

Ant is probably the person to advise on air ride..... he will be along I'm sure :)

if there is a mark III fabia, I expect a couple of years wait.......

RARB id a great handiling mod, best bang for bucks ;)

Depends how deep are your pockets, the only reason I went for airride is because I had coilovers on my mk1 fabia vrs and they was good but also did my head in. I had to plan my root where speed bumps wasn't there couldn't have 4 people in the car, struggled to get on and off my drive etc etc.

My airride cost me fitted, you ready £3000. That's full airlift front and rear strut and bags with v2 and twin compressors. If you look in my build thread there are picutres of everything I've done.

As for the rarb is a excellent cheap mod to do the car, and it makes the handling transform instantly.

As for the seats like you said rs4 ones I don't think they would be a direct bolt in. I think you'll have to mess about with the runners that's even if there the same width as the fabia ones.

Personaly I don't believe that the seat surgeons retrim is a real leather but that's just me I've seen enough of them now to have my own opinion on them. There are a lot more companies out there which would do you a Retrims.

For the vinyl wrapping my friend as got a company that does it for a living it's called vinyl image in West Yorkshire.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the honest feedback, looks like the airbags may have to wait, just managed to convice the wife that  a wrap and seats are a good idea (how the hell I did that I will never know?)

I wrapped my bonnet in Matt black 3m 1080 primarily for winter to stop any chips but I am starting to like it like that

I have leather seats, got a set of ibiza cupra seats, they bolt straight in (almost) with a little mod to the electric terminals, all the airbags work correctly ect too...

so you could try to buy some from a breakers ect ebay maybe..

here are mine (I have the rears in too)

Thanks, they look great, I have spent the last year looking for a good interior but getting a date with the queen would be easier!

all the seast i've seen would need work or renovation, guess I'll keep looking.

Arse, just got off the phone with the insurance and no one will cover the wrap? will cover loads of other things but not this, oh well plan B!

Edit, scratch that, just spoke to Tasmin at Adrian Flux and they will cover all the modifications and wrap, now back to plan A bonus.
