Yeah fair one the noise is sweet. It only ever produced 98db at Coombe until the recent tyre wall incident and now it's 102db. Not to sure what's going on there. Your Fabia was quick round Donny' date=' it is Diesel after all. How did the BMW D fair?

The BMW didn't seem any quicker around the track, although the driver was aggressive enough for me to let him pass on the 2 occasions I saw him out, but he managed a 1:29 !!!!!! So he won the track session, but I managed to out drag him with a 6.6 0-60 and 15.2 1/4, which I am surprised about, as I came straight off the track, and then did some 1/4 mileing so the heat soak was quite bad.............

But that was the first time on the track after the RICA remap and I was seriously impressed, although I knew very early on that handling would be a problem for me. I do need a fully adjustable set up ideally - but realistically It is my daily hack and not a track day car, so I will leave it as is........for now ;)

Did you enjoy your 6 laps ?

Mallory is a much more relaxed affair. In the 2 years we have been doing track days there nobody has been black flagged including Keith (Dialynx) rip roaring UR Q which spits 6 feet flames. It has just cjanged hands though Rich, Thruxton circuit have bought it out so it may have a different outlook, have to wait and see. Got a fax Rich I will send it to you?

I had an indifferent day. I have done Donny before only in the wet but that was before I hit the tyre wall at Coombe. I've always thought I was a half sensible driver but my bottle had completely gone, wrong lines and paying more attention to what goes on around me than on my own job at hand. By the time I sorted myself out I was kicked off. Never mind there's always next year with my new project, Mk2 with Mk5 Turbo lump??

Mk2 with Mk5 Turbo lump??

Neal

That sounds very special - i am looking forward to next year, which should be properly organised !

What are your feelings on the "road legal" issue? I had a look at some of the cars and some of there tax discs didn't match the number plate. I'm all for getting beat by the better car on the day but it would be nice if we all played on the same level playing field?

Yeah - I believe some people were being naughty, and I am surprised it wasn't picked up, although I know a few people have complained. I would say 50% of those that went had something to offer there customers - a conversion, or a tuning package or suspension etc. But I am not sure what others were up to, and there were several racing cars all of which went home on trailers ?

As I said, next year I think will be different, and they will be a lot stricter !
