Retro fitting the 'winter pack'....?

Featured Replies

Anyone know what's involved in doing this?...a heated windscreen of course, but I'm thinking from an electrical point of view... Anyone know if the electrics are present behind the dashboard/switches etc.?

I only ask because my wife's old Sorento had all the electrics there, just not connected up and it had blank switches. I fitted the appropriate switches and when the windscreen was replaced I had the one with the heater element put in, as it was a simple multi plug connection....

Just a thought, if I ever have to call autoglass!!!

Steve.

Not sure, but my car was supposed to have winter pack on when it arrived (amongst other things) and dealer had to reorder the car

May be because of warranty or something I suppose, but I assumed it would be a dash out job and therefore not possible

At least here in Finland the Winter pack consists of a factory installed Webasto unit, heated windscreen, heated rear seats, heated washer nozzles and a carpet set. (And as far as I've understood, when the factory installed Webasto is present, the ceramic heating element is left out.)

Having all of those retrofitted would probably cost a pretty penny.
