Will be ordering a new car over the coming months and am wondering should I hold off for any period of time to ensure I would get any expected updates?

 

Most likely going to be another vRS But the superb is catching my attention as well.

The vRS 230 is coming out in due course...reckon it'll be about £1k more than the existing model and looks as though it will come with the Golf PP power upgrade and by the photos the Black Pack, 19's and possibly a gloss black rear spoiler.

I'm doubting it will come with the VAQ diff and larger vented rear brakes though.

Also in due course (probably from MY16/week 22) the Bolero will probably change to the MIB2 platform....better CPU and graphics and a 6.5" screen rather than the current 5.8....also things like Mirrorlink, Smartgate and car net will start trickling through Id have thought.

As it happens the Mk3 will be receiving a facelift too but doubt this will come until 2016.

The diesel engines should finally get the EU6 upgrade, if you care about those sort of things.

Not sure if the VRS will then get the 140kW engine with 400Nm as is currently used in the new Passat and which the Superb will also get, or whether they stick with the 135kW that the Golf GTD uses (but which is also EU6).

 

And I second pipsyps comment about the Bolero, at least all the info we could find in the other threads about the Bolreo point in that direction.

I agree, expect all O3 motors will become EU6.

This may result in the 1.4 TSi moving to the 150hp variant (though possibly still without CoD) and maybe the 110hp 1.2 TSi. I expect any TDI that can do without SCR to become EU6 compliant will likely do so. The 1.6 diesel might go 120hp possibly; the 150 has remained as is in the Passat I believe maybe with a different catalyst system but not SCR.

I guess the 190hp SCR equipped unit could eventually filter down but expect the Audi A3, Golf and Leon will get it first.

I wasn't aware that most engines weren't EU6 yet. I always only looked at the 2.0 TSI VRS engine and that has been EU6 for some time now.

The luxembourgish catalogue from January already lists the 2.0 TDI for the VRS as EU6 (probably because anything ordered in January won't be delivered until the MY changes are in effect) but it's still the 135kW engine. That said it may well be an error. Skoda are particularly sloppy with their catalogues I found.

In the same document the only other EU6 are 1.8 TSI and 1.6 TDI greenline

Ive just placed an order for an O3. Fingers crossed i get an MY16. But with an ETA of 14 AUG 15. Minus 2 weeks for delivery once landed in Australia and ship travel times of 2 months. I think i will miss out by 1-2 weeks. Boooo!!!

He said its the 2016 so satnav was free, as all 2016 were free from now on. Don't want to pay new money for old stock

Most significant change I would say would be the size of the screen on the head unit. If it measures 6.5" then you have a new MY16 car. If it is 5.8" then it's the older MY15 car.

So do they come with a |Columbus sat nav ? Skoda website still askes for either 5.8" Amundsen or 6.5" Columbus. Wouldn't it only list Amunsen. Infact sat nav is now free yet listed as extra

My car should have the larger screen then. To be honest, he didn't have a clue. They should make then study the cars before selling them. I asked if sunroof was tilt/slide. He thought it was fixed but wasn't sure. Went in office and said,tilt only. If it hasn't sat nav, we are walking
