hi everyone have ad an 08 octavia elegance tdi auto for a month now .only done 41 k owned by friend prior since 09.had biggest run of bad luck with it . passenger side mirror indicator failed so did mot.had pack of pepsi leak on back seat,then 2 stones on windscreen ,did the right thing had dsg box oil changed last week then went to drive it 2 days later no speedo or rev counter or temp or fuel .spoke to main dealer who want £97 to look at it then around £800 to swap speedo .decided to try and send speedo away to a referbisher waiting now for it to come back .i hope it will all come back to life when its put back in.other issue is ive managed to crack the plastic glass in front of speedo unit getting it out can you get them as a spare ?or has anyone got one they want to part with. my better half refuses to go in car or drive it lost all confidence in car .

Yes, you can get the plastic glass in front of the speedo replaced. I had mine done last year, I can't remember the exact price but it was around £100, done by the main dealer.

Part number for the glass is 1z0 919 137.  It is about £40.
