Fabia door lock and central locking issues

Featured Replies

Hi all, hope someone here can advise me here.

Right, its a 2003 Fabia 1.4 mpi, 4 door estate R/H drive. The issue is with the electric door locks. The central locking does not work from the key fob button, but does work the front doors and rear passenger side door, from the key using the drivers door lock. On inspection I have found that the rear driver's side door lock has been replaced with a non-electric lock so it can only be locked and unlocked from the push/pull button on the top of the door panel. All wiring is still in place just no plug on the lock to plug into.

My questions are....

Would the missing electric lock upset the central locking in a way that it will not work on the key fob button?

Why does the front passenger door outer handle need to be pulled twice to open the door? Is this part of the same issue or just a sticking lock?

Many thanks in advance, Cheers.

My central locking just does not work all the time, if I go on a long journey it may work a couple of times after this, there are flashing red lights on the door latch and on the door and also a clicking which seems to be at the same time as the flashing in time together coming from the dashboard? sometimes the key opens all the doors but most of the time it only opens the drivers door, so no-one can get in unless they climb over the drivers door, I am leaving my car unlocked because the fast flashing occurs when I lock it on the door button and I am thinking it flattens the battery, also I think ?? is it the battery although the car starts ok hen it is being used all the time, I went on holiday for 2 weeks and it was completely flat no lights etc on the dash just completely flat?? can you advise me please?? is it going to cost me a fortune or is there an easier solution to this?? maybe a fuse?? please help . L Halshaw . thankyou.
