Fitting a Fabia centre arm rest

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Can anyone point me in the right place for a fitting guide for a Centre arm rest for the Fabia.

It will be a proper Skoda one.

I found some pics the other day,but now cannot find them.

Cheers all.......

Should come with some?

Its simple anyway

The square storage tub infront of the cupholder pops out and reveals the 4 threads which it screws into.

Then attach the 2 parts of the armrest together, pop the covers on and happy days (:

I was thinking of getting one of these for my Monte. Would this be the right thing and do you think it is an OEM one?

Its certainly cheaper than the £170 Skoda are quoting me to fit one!

If no good, any ideas where is a good place to get a genuine one?

Thats not oem mate, thats a cheap aftermarket one. I wouldnt bother.

The oem skoda one isnt cheap, but it is the best one. Instead of fitting ontop and being unstable, the square tub infront of the rear cup holder is removed and the metal frame is screws to 4 existing threads in the car. Its solid.

Thats about the going rate, unless you can find one on ebay in good used condition

I have this one in my car, have had it about 18 months I reckon. It's well made and looks good but as above the fixings aren't as solid as OEM. You certainly can't put any weight through it but as an arm 'rest' it does the job. If you can afford OEM then go down that route but if on a budget then it does the job just not as well.

Cheers. Yeah thought it sounded quite cheap. I'll have to think about my options now.

I know yeah. It made me think twice too.

Dont get me wrong, im not short of £130, but yanno how it is, we work hard for our money n its gotta be spent wisely. We chose skoda afterall.

So i spent a while waiting, n one eventually came up on ebay. Used, about 15 miles away n we agreed on £60 collected. It was on very good condition (cars pretty new so i didnt wanna put a shabby armrest in). So i went n got it n I've been happy ever since.

There isnt a journey i dont use it. Its made the car soo much comfier.

Bit of a pita to manouvre on steep hills as the handbrake isnt too easy. I reach around it for parking and dont use it much other than that. But when i do need parallel park on a steep hill, i do have to fold it up

I love having the armrest in the vrs one of the best extras for the car

Finally got round to taking mine out the car and binning it yesterday. . They bounce so much its ridiculous. Deffo go Oem if yiu can stretch to it.

Mine doesn't bounce at all but I'm very aware if I lean on it rather than rest my arm on it then it would just collapse.

They do take a bit of getting used to as you say, handbrake, popping seat belts on/off etc. You can work around it or just lift it out of the way, either way you soon get used to it. A brilliant piece of kit and I certainly wouldn't want to be without mine, makes every journey so much more comfortable.

Thanks for the input guys! Yeah I'm thinking I will have to add this to the list of things to get!
