Cruise Control for Octavia 1.6 Amb

Featured Replies

I have gone through a few threads on fitting the cruise control for the Octy. However it seems that the models mentioned were mainly the vRS versions. Anyone know if I can have my car fitted by a VAG mechanic with just the stalk and connect the loom to the ecu and activate via the vag-com on the 74Kw 1.6 version just like in the diesels?

I dont think that is possible, unless your engine has a 'AZD' in the engine number.

Have a look at the table on this page to see if your engine is listed. You'll need your engine number, which should be on your V5.

That's a really useful table. It doesn't list the ARX (fitted to the Octavia 1.8T DBW VVT 4X4), but there again it is for Golf variants. I have bookmarked it for future reference. :)

You need to confirm that your car is DBW (Drive By Wire). If it is then you should be ok but you will need the additional wiring loom as I believe this is only normally fitted to the TD's.

Also before you buy any parts have Cruise enabled in the ECU.
