Wireless Alarm System Help Required

Featured Replies

I'm looking for some advice on this issue.

My mother has a Visonic Powermax Plus alarm system but recently it has started reporting a "System Jammed" message on the LCD display and won't arm.

After doing some Googling, I've tried all the usual and obvious solutions:-

1. Remove Wireless devices, reinstall them.

2. Remove wireless devices, clean, change batteries, reinstall them.

4. Turn off mains electricity to remove any external RF interference.

5. Factory Reset.

When I enter Installation Mode and then exit - the "Trouble" LED is extinguished for a short time - but then reverts back to being on with the "System Jammed" message.

At present, I have uninstalled all of the wireless devices (Keyfobs, Door contacts, PIR's, etc) so the alarm panel is not communicating with anything, but the system is still reporting "System Jammed".

I've not introduced anything into the house recently (Wifi, baby monitors, etc) - so I can only assume that the RF interference must be external.

Is there anything else I can do to find the source of interference / remove it.

I'm at a loss at present.

Can you not change the systems wireless channel?

Not  got that brand but wireless, is it a solar panel with mine you need to cover solar panel and remove batteries and leave for half hour then re install

Can't change frequencies (as far as I know). Certainly no jumper settings in the wireless sensors to do this.

I did a factory reset using the control panel. That didn't work.

I tried deleting and reinstalling the sensors.

Last thing I am trying now is to remove the batteries from the sensors and leave it for a day.

Have you contacted the manufacturer??

It may be a common fault.

After some extensive diagnostics - it looks like a faulty PIR.

I removed all wireless sensors and re-attached them one by one - I have 1 PIR remaining and so far nothing wrong..

So - Will fit the last one and see if the issue occurs.
