Which pads for DAS-6 Pro Plus?

Featured Replies

Okay guys I have been doing a bit of research and I just want to check what you think about the following.

I am going to use Gtechniq P1 to start with on a white hex logic pad to get rid of some of the finer swirl marks on my car.

I would then move onto Autoglym Srp applied and polished with either a white or black hex logic pad.

Next would be Collinite 476s applied by hand via an applicator pad and finished off on the DA with a black hex logic pad.

And then to complete it a nice layer of Sonax BSD.

The above is my normal routine although I used to do it all by hand and now I have a DA.

What to you think of the above and am I using the correct pads for the products?

I have the following pads at the moment:

Hex logic Yellow, White, Blue and Black.

Thanks for reading and any help is appreciated.

Don't see any benefit of using the AGSRP, unless you still have swirls after polishing.

Okay thanks for that it's just the way I have always done it but it would certainly save a lot of time and effort as the superb is a big car!

I like the CG hexlogic pads. They seem to last longer than the others that I've used in the past. If youre getting enough cut with the whites then stick with that but if you want a little more cut, you can move up to the green pad, but you may find it leaves holograms behind with the more agressive pad. Like NM says, no real need for the SRP unless the finish isn't good enough and you want to fill in any remaining scratches/swirls.

HTH bud.

I agree too

AGSRP is an all in one Cleaner/Filler/Sealant but its durability is poor...So as quite rightly said, no need to use it, because the P1 has already done its work

Just top the P1 with your Collinite after a degrease with IPA or Carpro Eraser..This will ensure that the wax bonds well...to aid its durability

Every couple of washes a light wipe over with BSD will see it last for many months

Okay thanks Chris I don't usually do a wipedown with IPA but I have just ordered some Carpro Eraser so will add that step in.
