Fmic

Featured Replies

right after the TSR S/W meet i now have the modding bug!!!!

i want a FMIC but want to put in on the front of the car where the middle grill goes and to relocate the number plate kinda like devonutopias fabia (but on my octy vrs) any body seen this done, if so got any pics?

if not can i log a photoshop request!!!!

DaveU has done this. Check his gallery. He never seems to bother much with number plates at all though!

You'll need a re-map to gete the benefit of an FMIC though.

Looks V nice!

Centre of the grill is the only place where the FMIC goes as it's the place where most air comes through.

You don't need a remap to have one fitted....you will see an improvement in term that there will be a reduction in power drop off higher up.

A remap would make the most of the lower inlet temps and you can run higher boost.

Dave has cut out the number plate holder on the bumper so the plate could only go on the side a la EVO.

There are some who have gone for a more stealthy approach. ;)

its remapped at the moment, well sort of. yeh i want to slap in bang on the front

a: to get the best air flow

b: to look nuts when it scream up behond u lol

will try and find daveu pics

Like Adrian said - to get the most out of it you'll need a re-map.

Even if its been done already the map'll still want tweaking (unless you just want the pose factor of course - in which case, not a problem!)

well will it really made that much of a differance to get the remap tweeked.

is it worth the 7 hour round trip?

Probably not!

Bolt on half a dozen or so other bits - then make the journey! :D

What's your thinking beind doing this?

I doubt it would be legal...I mean tyre have to be within wheel arhes regardless of width...spoilers cannot extend beyond widest part of car...I'm sure a FMIC has to be "within" the form of a car...i.e. behind bumper.

I'm pretty sure it would get more easily damaged and the local riff-raff would probably kick it in...ouch...circa

Yea....wot he he said!

sorry its my doggy explination.

if i mount the ic flush with the most forward point of the bumper, but this will mean that the top of the ic will be flush and the bottom will be slightly prowd of the bumper if u get,no plans to bodgy onto the front lol
