Fabia VRS Mk1 Car Pulling off in 1st/Reverse with clutch pedal down

Featured Replies

as mentioned above, I have seen a few threads on this and believe it could be replaced by a shim and metal plate being fitted to the gearbox.

I know others have mentioned the slave cylinder.

The clutch is fine, DMF is good. Gearbox has never missed a beat, however on occasion the car will pull off while the clutch pedal is pressed and its either in first or reverse.

At these times the gear stick wont go back into neutral unless you rev to about 2K (Fabia VRS Mk1).

I got an answer from another member who i am awaiting pictures from however has anyone else managed to fix this using anything similar?

Apparantley there is a cir-clip that eats into the aluminum housing making the main shaft have too much play in it.

Hello mate I done this in my car a few months back now. Really easy to do. Couple of psrts needed. Cost me under a tenner. Pull off the black cap on end of gear box in passenger wheel arch. Remove circlip then fit spacer ring in the. Refit clip and new black cap. All done.

Before messing about with this, I'd check that the clutch hydraulics don't need bled, or even a new slave.

It will be that ring. I took my box out changed the lot, rebleed it. No difference

Where do you get the spacer ring from?

TPS, but Škoda should be able to as well

Do you know the actual part name or number because my local tps will just scratch their heads if I ask for a gearbox spacer ring.

I've got a invoice in my car if no one comes up with part numbers I'll post them tomoz :)

Spot on Danny, thank you.

02M301211B cover
