Water Ingress...

Featured Replies

Had a search but couldn't really find a definitive answer.

I seem to get water ingress on the rear door window seals on the inside. Usually happens when it rains or I wash the car. Has caused some green mould stuff to grow now. Any ideas of how to stop this happening or fix it?

It's the same on both sides.

The water is leaking past the rear door seals, seems to happen on almost every Fabia, have a search for that, plenty of guides.

As for the mould, use a paint brush and some warm soapy water to brush into it when cleaning the car. Alternatively a pressure washer will take it straight off.

As in the seals at the bottom? They're all dry with plumbers gold. Is it the ones at the side of the window that need replacing?

first car I've had it happen on. tried the toothbrush idea- took mould off, but it's back. Might try mild fungicide or something like Milton or even the stuff used to sterilise home brew equipment.
