Who's running a Miltek?

Featured Replies

How come you want to de-cat it?

Think the turbo can over boost without the map adjusting to suit.

I wanna decat and straight through ... makes it sound better IMO :)

Have you looked at getting a mufflectomy done? That's what ive got on mine and it sounds good.

Basically cut the back box off and weld a straight pipe in its place. You can then choose to have a different tip. I used my local powerflow dealer and it cost me £80 with a new tip.

Might do just that then ... wouldnt mind the 'coo' after lifting off though

Not a big fan of Milltek wxhaust, always used Piper myself, failing that I go custom.

I run a full miltek system with my gtb set up, the fitment is okay. Mine makes the owl noise but driving with it as a daily i find it annoying and boring, it'd be okay if it did it now and then but it does it all the time so you know what to expect.

So will it owl with just a mufflectomy then or is that from a downpipe change?

Mine never owled when I had the cat and back box cut out, but when I changed the down pipe to a miltek it owled and still does with a full miltek

Wish i was :dull:

I don't know why people put a turbo back exhaust on these. Unless you're looking to change the turbo and run in excess of 220bhp then it's a waste of money.

If you want to change the look and add a bit of sound the mufflerectomy is by far more cost effective. Have a look on youtube for 'Fabia vRS Mufflerectomy' and see if you like the sound. You can have any exhaust tip of your choice too.

they sound better with a full turbo back.

Also it gives you the potential to up the power with out changing the exhaust again. So once you have a full system you can go for bigger power and not have to spend twice if you done a mufflerectomy first.

Each to their own. Guess it would depend what your goals are for the car, but for me, unless your going for big power the money can be better spend elsewhere. Handling is sloppy as standard so that's where my money would be going!
