Hi I'm Yart, and I've just bought my first Skoda.

A slightly sad story, as I have had to buy the Skoda due to the theft of my much loved Audi A6 avant 2.7 tdi. It wasn't funny having just spent the best part of £2500 on it the week before. Fortunately ADS in Preston who have always done a great job of looking after my motors also happened to have there cheif Engineer/mechanics Skoda Octavia tdi 140 4x4 up for sale. This made good sense to me its a very well maintained car at the right price with twelve months warrantee too. Its got over 100,000 miles on the clock, its 60 plate car which we believe might have been an ex paramedic type vehicle. I have the joy of collecting it on Monday. My two boys have seen it and Christened it "Skippy"

Hello , my brother has biught kodiak with matrix led lights. One of the problem is that high beam don't light up automatically and there is option to enable it on the menu. I have read somewere that someone had the same problem , but in tme meatime recieved an ota update and the function appeard . I have an obd11 but can't connect the car because of rhe newer protection so I was wondering how I could enable it. Another thing is if it would be possible to enable the inner rear stop lights. Local dealership said it would cost £300 to upgrade my maps and suggested that there are better options them then for this! After lots of online research I decided to update the firmware from H4120 to 5274. I have the zipped file RNS_510_FW_5274_update.iso and have burned this to a DVD at lowest speed. When I put the DVD in the unit (no keys in iginition) it whirs around and then after 20-30 seconds comes back with a CD/DVD error. The unit will play a normal music

For the past few weeks my Skoda Scala Infotainment unit has been prompting me to do updates. Almost everyday I get the prompt to do an update. I only get the one prompt in a day. I believe the procedure is to park, accept the update, turn off the ignition, exit the car and lock it. I think some updates only apply when you next start the car.
