New Clutch Time - 2.0 TFSI vRS - Options?

Featured Replies

Well my 2006 TFSi vRS has eaten its first clutch after 117,000 miles. It is Stage One mapped - around 240bhp - and with no other engine mods and not planning anything else unless the engine goes bang!

What options do I have for clutch kits apart from the normal Sachs or LUK. Obviously I am also going to replace the DMF at the same time to avoid any other problems down the line.

The way I see it is the standard clutch has lasted since 50k with the Stage One map - so do I just put another standard setup in it? Always hear horror stories about so called 'uprated' clutch kits!

Open to any suggestions or opinions people may have....

I've got the same car same year with 115k and I've bought a spec 6 paddle clutch with race lightend flywheel for a bargain but I'm goin to use the modified Sachs clutch kit on spec flywheel, just a random question does your engine when hot sound rattly just over the past 6 months mine started to get noisey now and then and I found it to be the oil pump chain tensioner colapsed so now rebuilding engine once back in and running I will let you no how it drives
