brake pads

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Ive got a 2010 octavia vrs. Im looking at changing the front brake pads. Has anyone used the ebc redstuff or mintex pads. Also id like to no your thoughts on either and any other recommendations you can offer

I put Pagid disks and pads on all round, mainly because they were reasonably reviewed and discounted on ECP. They were fine, marginally better than the OEM they replaced.

Im gna keep std discs on as their fine. Its only pads i want to change as i find the brakes arent as good as they could be. Sumone told me ebc redstuff mite not be compatable with std discs

I've used ebc red stuff and they make a cheap upgrade, feels stronger compared to stock pads

Was there any problem using them with standard discs?? One place told me they were too hard with std discs

I've used them with new pagid discs for over 2 years now and the discs are still fine. I like them for more confident braking from high speeds and they are also less dusty.

I do thinl the std pads tend to fade quite a bit with hardly any really hard braking

This is what came off my 2009 VRS with 60k on the clock( original disc's ), new fronts & pads also rear pads all for £120 from EPC, fitted them myself

Just been told by a place that ebc dont list the redstuff for 2010 vrs.??

I've got Redstuff pads on my 2009 VRS so they definitely sell them. I like the Redstuff pads. They squeeled a bit when braking for the first 500/600 miles or so but they bite well and don't fade anything like the OEM pads.
