Mk3 4x4 Conversion

Featured Replies

If I could change one thing about the RS, it'd be to make it 4x4.

I looked into this for my '10 RS but it would have been easier to just buy a Scout and drop an RS (or GTI) engine in etc.

Does anyone know if this is would be any easier now that the Mk3 is on the MQB platform?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Funny enough I was at awesome gti and a bloke with a mk5 gti was having it done , mind you he has spent 15,000 pounds on the engine ( forged conrods you name it bespoke apr engine (740 bhp ) and 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds but even the quite lsd can't cope hense 4x4 . I asked why he did not start with an r32 mk5 , he wanted a one off !

I've been thinking of the same thing as Fireside. Would be great if it possible to use parts from the Golf R and do the tuning from that point. What are the major differences between the octavia rs and golf r? And will parts from golf R fit the octavia?

Would it not be easier to buy the Golf R estate??

Well, the tax system here in Norway makes it "impossible" to buy a Golf R. The tax of the car increases  with bhp of the car.

A Octavia Vrs starts at 400 000 NOK while a Golf R starts at 660 000 NOK. Which means the Golf R costs approximately 50% more than the Octavia.

In addition I needed an Octavia due to the size.

The prices mentioned above is just the start price, I didn't configure the vehicles, so the real price is somewhat higher, for instance I paid 520 000 NOK for my Octavia.

1 GBP = 12 NOK.

520 000 NOK = 43 333 GBP.

Why not remap a 1,8 TSI 4x4? You easily gets 220hk and 325 Nm just by that.

18" wheels is an option from factory, or even standard on the L&K version.

A set of lowering springs or adjustable kits.

I am sure that bigger brake disks fits the front spindles.

What else? How far will you stretch it? If you like spoilers front and rear, and other stash: Superskoda.com

You have the best sleeper..... for a small price!
