Noobie Question

Featured Replies

Hey All,

Sorry if this has been covered before but thought id loose my virginity on here with a 1st post.

Recently bought a 19TDi VRS and loving it, There is only a little niggle that is bugging me.

At low speeds there is a loud knock coming from the front suspension, but at high speeds the knock seems to disappear.

Any ideas what this could be and how to fix?

No doubt I will have a bunch of further questions and posts on here so ill try and keep them shorter :)

Much ta

Matt

There are many parts of the front suspension that can cause knocking.

This video will hopefully help you narrow it down a bit. But work out what area or component it's coming from (get underneath and give bits a wiggle) then have a search for the specific problem

Hope this helps

Sounds like anti roll bar bushes

Weak point on the fabia suspension are the anti roll bar drop links and console bushes

Thanks for the responses lads,

Ill have a wiggle this weekend and see what I can find.

Looking on here the Droplinks seem to be a regular thing so might do them anyway.

They're the cheapest and easiest thing to change (drop links) do them.

They can be very easy,or they can require cutting off after the hex head rounds out

Some aftermarket ones require a very slim spanner to hold the back instead of the hex head which is a much better design imo
