Changing head bolts to PD150 - Advice Please

Featured Replies

Today I changed the headbolts in my 54 Fabia Vrs. It's done 140k and is using coolant really slowly. So just a shot in dark before it goes for head gasket testing/replace, thought I'd try replacing and re-torquing. Anyway ordered PD150 bolts from Darkside and swapped them out one at a time using torque wrench. I come unstuck on the final head bolt. Any ideas how to get this one out? I undone it fine but can't physically pull it out as it catches on the object above. Do I need to remove the part above and if so how do I do this? Is there an easy way ?post-64246-14262793026719_thumb.jpg

If it's in the way and both parts don't move then yes, it will need to come out, no magic tricks to make it bend here.

Remove the EGR valve three 5mm Allen key bolts and two connected underneath 7mm ( I think ), probably worth giving it a clean as the cars done 140k

It's not leaking slowly at the radiator/connection is it? Common point for failure it turns out (after having the same issue).
