Just joined this great site after buying an 06 1.2 Fabia Aambiente.

 

Only had it a week, pleased so far, just tidying up a few things. One of them being the boot light. I have read on the forum about various issues with the light not working, and I have one of those.

 

It may sound a basic question but I took the bulb out to buy a new one, just in case it is an easy fix and for the life of me I cannot fathom out how to put it back.

 

For all I know it may have been the wrong bulb anyway, could somebody let me know which bulb should be in the lamp unit and how you are meant to put it back in the lamp unit.

Capless 501 bulb. 5 watt.

 

They just push in.

 

Thanks for the reply, now I know what bulb to get, I will have another go tomorrow, for some reason I just cannot get the bulb to  go in properly.

Don't get that , I Have the mother of all boot lights

Try and wiggle it about to prize the connector open a tad so it accepts the bulb. If the bulb doesn't work, you may have the dodgy boot switch problem. If that's the case, you can wire up a new earth to the light through the boot lid via a tilt switch.

I've bought a replacement unit off Ebay in then end, I think the holder must be damaged as there is no way for the bulb to attach.

 

I will see when I get the replacement.
