Bridgestone Turanza ER300. Run Flats?

Featured Replies

Confused.

I have Bridgestone Turanza ER300 tyres fitted to my new Octy 3 and they are also fitted to my wife's Rapid in a smaller size. Anyway thought I would look at the Bridgestone website. It would seem these are now yesterdays model but that did not bother me too much.

What did surprise me was that on the webpage:

http://www.bridgestone.co.uk/auto/ranges/turanza/er300/?width=225&aspectratio=45&rim=17&loadindex=91&speedindex=W

These seem to be Summer tyres and 'RFT' which I take to mean 'Run Flat Tyres'. I have been following the other thread about the hard suspension (Which I agree with) so if the description is right and they are RFT that would also give rise to a harder ride with less give in the tyre wall.

If they are RFT why have a spare.....

Is they or Isn't they, that is the question.......?

Thanks Andy, I did bend down as far as I could and tried to find any reference to RFT on the sidewall but with failing light and a lot of writing did not spot anything. I assume it would be made quite clear so will have a look tomorrow.

I doubt very much if they are, they cost a fair bit more per tyre
