Octavia to MG HS PHEV, MG to Skoda Elroq EV?
And I still have my 2022 PHEV despite lots of looking, reading and a couple of test drives. The new HS has side steps, my wife scraped her shin/calf on them getting in or out. I asked MG Customer Service if my Dealer removed them would it mean the car had been 'modified' and so would not be covered? Their response was to send me a link to their warranty page! Obviously too hard a question. I did test drive the Elroq and did like it, however we had a problem with our MyEnergi/Zappi set up that took a lot of emails and about 3-4 days of no charging, my wife did not then want to risk it with a BEV and suggested we went for another PHEV or Hybrid. For us not needing such a large car am now finding it hard to find something suitable. Obviously fitting a fuel tank and a battery takes up a lot of space. One candidate, despite its image was the Honda Jazz, practical, economical, well equipped and under the 40k Gvnt ceiling. The test drive when driven at tip-toe speed was great but the CVT was something else, when you wanted some power that CVT was really awful. On returning to the dealership my back said I should ask if it had lumber support, which it didn't, so that was a very dissapointed salesman! So here I am, still with my 3.5 year old MG HS PHEV with just 8k on the clock. I hope to find a good Hybrid or convince my wife having two BEV's is not such a risky decision. I take my hat off to MyEnergi who's Customer Service has been superb.

Octavia to MG HS PHEV, MG to Skoda Elroq EV?
I think I got this from Auto Express article regarding the grant and that Hyundai had applied it to the Inster 02. I Probably read it wrong. Thanks for the correction, but either way £4250 off a new EV is a good discount. I like the Insters practicality with the folding front seat and sliding rear seats makes room for 4 people or lots of shopping!

Octavia to MG HS PHEV, MG to Skoda Elroq EV?
Thank you John. The inster is my wife's new car and will be our run around. The Elroq is a possible replacement for my MG HS PHEV. My MG has only covered 7400 miles since March 2022 so mainly also local trips with the occasional holiday, when we both need a car at the same time. Or in the UK or a trip to an airport. It is not opinions on the running around, that will be evident on a test drive, it's more like: Top 3 things you like about the Elroq ? Top 3 things you do not like about the Elroq ? How easy or hard is the Info to use, easy to adjust the aircon/heating? How intrusive/annoying is the driver attention warning when you are trying to adjust the info screen, can't do both at the same time! How picky is the over speed warning, is there a margin of error, say +2mph. Can this be turned off? are you able to turn off the warnings you don't want and they stay off or are they active on starting and each have to be turned off in the info screen? Those sort of things. Real world on the ranges of the 3 badge options, 50, 60 or 85. I am looking for max range, user friendly, and max comfort. The 'Days of Thunder' are now a distant memory! I am aware of the 3 year warranty against the 7 years of the MG. I bought an extended warranty each year on my Octy that covered the new Turbo replacement that blew at 4 years......... Sort of real world thoughts....

Octavia to MG HS PHEV, MG to Skoda Elroq EV?
Well its been a few years but back on this forum. At the moment I have the MG HS PHEV, no matter what people say this has been a brilliant car, nothing has gone wrong, the 12v is still the original, the DAB Radio still works and no stupid screen aerial glove box lash up either. 3 years and all is well. My wife has now ordered the new Hyundai Inster 02 EV and got £3.750 EV grant and £500 deposit contribution. We have a Zappi on the wall for the MG so thought I'd see what my options were. The new MG, EV3, or maybe the Elroq ? I have yet to book test drives so I would like to get a heads up on your thoughts on this car, so when I take it out of the dealer showroom I will hopefully remember what to check out! Any comments, good or bad would be appreciated. I noticed, or rather did not notice what the Elroq would attract in terms of the new Grant. £3750 or £1500. as said the Hyundai were offering a total of £4250 off a new car. Skoda does not list any value on its configuration pages.

Maybe I should have added this to the Elroq Forum.

Door dents
I had a good dent in my front wing which was taken out by a firm called axi-dent. www.axi-dent.co.uk The technician did a brilliant job after about 45 min of tapping and tapping, at the finish the dent was gone, no sign at all. They only remove dents and do not do any painting. Might be worth a call.

Thinking of buying a 2015 octavia 1.4tsi elegance dsg
Odd this, haven't been on this forum since March 22 and noticed this thread! I had the exact same car LT15 XYB from 2015-2022 and loved it. Mind you I only did 24k in that time. for some reason I changed to an MG HS PHEV and always regretted P/Xing the Octy. ( I'm on here reading up on the Elroq EV) The only real problem with the Octy was the 'Turbo Actuator Rod' on the 1.4 which failed a number of times, I think I had 4 failures that left me with a car that just did not want to accelerate and just went into limp mode. If I remember correctly the T.A.R fix would have been over a £1k each and the actual Turbo was replaced at 3 years, that would have been a £3k dealer fix. Luckily I had an extended warranty so didn't pay a penny. Its a great car, as long as the service history is complete and it drives well then why not?

Windscreen washers failed.
It is a Karoq. (Not mine) He will take it to our Skoda dealer as I think he has the extended warranty which may cover it. Thanks for you help.

Windscreen washers failed.
I think the wipers work but not the washers, front or back. Are there any other related fuses somewhere?
-
Windscreen washers failed.
Hi. A friend of mine has a 2018 1.4 model and the windscreen washers have failed, he has checked the fuse behind the glovebox and that appears to be okay. I was hoping someone here may have a solution, or if this is a dealer repair, or something that can be done by the owner who is very practically minded.

OBD11 can you transfer credits when sellling the unit to a new user?
I am on holiday until early October, if your not in a rush. I regret I will be an ex-Octavia driver later this year so am fairly sure I will not need it. I have 217 credits on my Next Gen Pro Pack. I only used to code a rear view camera.

OBD11 can you transfer credits when sellling the unit to a new user?
I am thinking of selling my OBD11 purchased in November 2020 that came with 200 credits, I am not sure if I used one of the credits or not when I installed a Rear Camera. Anyway, are the credits attached to the unit and available to a new user, or, are they only available to the original purchaser? Couldn't find anything on the OBD website.

Delivery times?
The Kona has about the same amount of scratchy plastic as the Octy, I'd say the quality was not dissimilar, she wanted a smaller hybrid about the same size as her Fabia which has covered just 8k miles since march 18. she liked the way it drove and to be honest I thought the infotainment was much better than the Skoda one, far more intuitive and it had actual buttons for heating and fan etc . She looked at many similar cars and choose the Kona. Better value than most and a far better deal. If she's happy so am I .

Delivery times?
Am wondering whether to order a new 1.4IV or not, if it takes 8 months to arrive. My wife was also thinking of going hybrid and selling her 2018 Fabia, she was offered £10k P/X on a Hyundai Kona Hybrid, the dealer asked what colour and model she wanted: 30 seconds later she was advised that the car was already built and is confirmed for delivery in the UK in November. Hyundai do not offer pages of options, you buy the one with the options installed. Come November we will see if it does arrive as promised.
