fabia creaking

Featured Replies

Hey folks. Got a vrs running coilovers n while it's quite low, it's not silly low. Just had the wishbones, drop links and track rod ends done and yet this creaking seems to persist, when I'm moving and turning the steering. Could the assistor springs on the coilovers b causing it? Starting to get on my nips. Any tips on how to fix this? Also when reversing there seems to b a judder from somewhere that's not there going forward. Any help would b great.

Check for play in the steering rack and the track rod itself, they have been known to let go and cause issues. Is the creaking coming from the front? What drop links did you buy? It's not uncommon for new ones to start creaking due to lack of grease on the ball joints. This can be fixed by removing them, carefully removing the circlip and putting some more grease in there. If it's coming from the rear it wouldn't hurt to clean everything up and check the condition of the rubber the springs sit in. Could try greasing the top mounts too but don't go crazy.

The judder could be an engine mount, if you've done the dog bone have a look at the gear box mount under the battery to see what condition it's in.
