Good.

Tell us about your car please.

Is this a 2nd Fixed Service at around 20,000 miles.

& how much are they quoting you for the Service?

Any thoughts on getting New Spark Plugs in before Santa Pod?

Or have you looked at them?

Hi George

good to see you back. You've restored some wisdom & Celtic humour back to this forum. It was getting boring without you.

But getting back to my car.... It's just covered 15000 miles, in just less than 2 years without a hiccup. Can honestly say it's been my most reliable car ever (so far & touch wood). Never burns oil & amazes me daily. Best fun I've ever had with my pants on!!

Apart from the Bluespark tuning box & a Tony Banks SS catback exhaust system, it remains bog standard, but I do have a H & R RARB to fit at some time, courtesy of an ex Briskodian who has moved on to other marques.

I would consider fitting different spark plugs, but sadly I lack the expertise & the tools to do this. Is it worth the effort? Or am I best leaving well enough alone?

The only reason I've not refitted the Bluespark box, is that sadly I do not remember where all the leads go - mine is a non-standard Bluespark box that monitors an extra sensor somewhere. I know that it monitors manifold air pressure & turbo boost pressure, but there is an extra lead that monitors something else which isn't covered in the Bluespark literature. I must give Ed at Bluespark a ring to see if he can remember, where it goes.

The service I just had I paid £139 for what amounts to a visual check & an oil & filter change, oh & a slight repair under warranty, of which I was not aware - a crack in a rubber boot on CV joint.. At least it proves they do check thing I suppose.

All sound good.

One warning on the Service, after they change the Oil & Filter and all is good and you have checked.

Check again in a couple of hundred miles and just top up if any oil has used.

Several times now on non oil users, they have used a bit after an oil change.  Then back to normal.

Its not an issue, just something to be aware of.

PS.

Re the Plugs.

Maybe change before another 7,000 miles IMO.

But just watch for ever a hint of a Misfire.

It will likely be between 2,400-3,500 RPM maybe kicking down under load on Super & Turbo,

any hint of a hicup or a light Engine Emission or ECP,  then take it easy and change the plugs,

but if you are only using 99 ron, then hopefully there should never be an issue.
