Mk2 Octavia - Early version/lower mileage vs Later version/higher mileage

Hi all,

I have a mk1 Octavia vRS at the moment. It's been a good car but I'm looking to move on now. The 'red mist' seems to come up a bit less often these days, and the potholes seem worse, so this time round I'm thinking of an Octavia estate 2.0l diesel, maybe a 4x4.

So, I have money for a mk2 Octavia. My question is:

Which is better:

1. A higher-miler (100,000+, up to 130k maybe) facelift version, which has improvements, including the CR engine I believe.

2. A lower-miler original version mk2

... assuming that both are in basically good condition.

I suppose what I am asking is: are the improvements for the facelift mk2 especially worthwhile?
