Paint matching rally red

Featured Replies

I have a friend that does abit of bodywork on cars,

Hes had my VRS for ages and finally got round to sorting my front bumper and grill and giving it a fresh coat of paint,

Looked fantastic until we went to refit it last sunday and it was completly differant colour to front wings and bonnet,

Now i know paint fades over time but cars alot less orange and alot more red than the bumper,

He has looked and there is only one rally red paint variant available but there were 3 variants available on VAG cars,

Anybody had any paintwork done on there rally red VRS's

You are stuffed basically, had similar issues with mine.  The red fades under the lacquer

I'll second that, I've been on nearly 3yrs on and off trying to match my corrida red .

The original colour does fade to a darker red, the newer paint will look more orangey

ive just had my yellow octy painted up in a few places.. front bumper, grill, rear bumper, drivers rear quarter, passenger door, passenger sill and all matches fine only a very very slight difference in colour that only i can see because i know its been painted.

my car was quite faded before paint but got the dude to run the mop over the whole car when done.

Vauxhalls are notorious for badly fading red paint after only a couple of years

Yes, usually as they were 'single stage' and not lacquered
