Featured Replies

Hi i have a power steering leak i thought it was brake fluid at first. Looks like it is coming from a screw my be a trip to the dealers. If i didn't have rubber mats i would not have seen it

Surely it wouldn't leak inside the car though?

I also thought we had electrical assistance rather than hydraulic? That looks like hydraulic fluid to me!

how old/milage? is your car,  my Toledo presented exactly the same drip in that area but actually dripped on the brake pedal.

I found that the fluid was running down one of the upright brackets. I cleaned if off, not much was there.

before parking up  everytime,  I stuck a kitchen towel onto the pedal to monitor the frequency

after 1 month, there was nothing showing, which makes me suspect the pedal pivots were to heavily oiled at the factory.

my initial suspicion was the brake servo leaking, running along the rod connected to the pedal and dripping down

age june 14    7000 miles. the leek is to far over to be brake fluid. There was a drip on the screw that is in the picture i dried it and as i took the picture it was wet again. could be a sealed unit with an electric pump

I thought PAS fluid was red?

Can just about make out the screw with oil in the pic. Looks like the casing screw and as said a sealed unit containing oil. Have you tried tightening it up?

That's two got this problem. Not been to dealers yet as my first service is in 4 weeks so i will have it looked at then.  I have made a small list for them to look at. don't like going backwards and forwards to them

well had my service done and all upgrades rear door seals cut at drain holes for water in doors.

With the power steering leak had to have a new steering column. Got to go back as the steering wheel is off center

Steering column?

What's attached to it that can leak?

Power steering pump is the most likely culprit - or at least the tubing to and from it.

Skoda1982 - any more info on precisely what was wrong with yours? Still need to find time to take mine in.
