What tyres are people using on there vrs?

My car gets driven hard and sometimes gets used on track.

Need something that is going to last but what has good grip and I have a budget of £150 for a pair

Don't bother with Falken 453, not as good as the 452's they replaced. Before that used Conti's and Michelin, got some Hankook's ready to go on to see what they like.

Eagle Aysm F1

I've been running ventus primes which are bang on your budget. They're a nice drive with decent grip but the sidewalls are a bit soft. Nice drive though. I'll need 2 new fronts soon so I'll try the EVO 2s with the directional pattern. Rears should roughly wear to match at end of those then I think I'll go back to good year efficient grips, which I had on my V5, very good all round tyre, probably best for the money.

Had an interesting chat with my guy down at Huw Lewis tyres (no not, and the news) and falken, Hankook and such can be inconsistent with the manufacture but it's pretty impossible to choose between them. He also hinted that you shouldn't take too much notice of the ratings, they don't get the results from running tyres on cars in real world situations.

Toyo or Pirelli could be a good shout on that budget as well if you're prepared to completely disregard the ratings system as they don't come out too well.

If you know a local garage who could fit them cheap, tyreleader have the Eagle F1 Asym 2s for £65 each in 225/45/17

That's not bad if you want to go that size, fitting and balancing you're talking 10-12 a wheel? Puts them on budget.

i will be going for uniroyal rainsport 3s on mine in the next month or so to replace the budget tyres that are on the front, i cant praise rs3 high enough they totally transformed my old r5 and 206 going from toyos and yokos.

I'm on continentals sp3 wearing well good grip but a bit noisy tbh. I was thinking about rainsport 3's next any idea about price in standard size?

Im sure you can get them for 65-70 -per tyre off the net. So good value imo

I always check mytyres.co.uk for a ball park figure, choice and the occasional big reduction. My local then tries to price match. At the moment they have the falken in standard size for £61 which seems a bit of a bargain.

£55 per corner seems good value I've heard good things about them. I'm sure the contis were over a 100 quid each!!

Not sure they're £50 a corner for standard 205/50 though.

I'm looking for a pair of rears is there any issue with running a slightly wider pair looking at 215/225 as there's more choice I will be sticking to 50 profile. Thanks

225/45/17 is the size to go for.
