New fault code

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

I replaced my air con pressure sensor yesterday and when clearing the codes I've noticed a new one has appeared.

01044 in Radio? I have the cd changer disconnected from the standard stream unit and have a connects 2 aux adapter in there.

Is it possible that this could be causing the fault or is it unrelated?

It will be an incorrectly coded radio.  Is it from another car?

Not that I'm aware of no. It's only a stream and it's what was fitted to the car when I bought it. Radio works just shows that fault code and now antennae short to ground?

I wonder if it had a Columbus fitted once abd the Stream was put back in when traded. Suggest going through long coding but check service label to see if navigation was fitted from factory (look for code 7q2).

Cool I'll take a look at the coding. Just wasn't sure if the connects 2 aux unit would bring up faults.

Ok checked the coding and all seems fine.

Navigation definately not checked. Tried to clear the codes 3 times and the incorrectly coded module fault has cleared now I just have it saying malfunction 0010. And fault code says antenna open circuit?

I just wondered if the Stream was from another car and had incorrect coding really from being that car. I wondered if nav was fitted in yours previously but nav not ticked in gateway suggests otherwise. Could it be a faulty antenna - is reception ok?

Seems to be although I don't use radio much, mainly using aux.

Have you got an aux lead plugged in permanently and not always connected to a device? That could cause the error.

  • Author

Yes. I leave the lead plugged into the aux socket I fitted then just plug my phone in when I get in the car

Reckon that might be it.  And I presume the 01044 error hasn't come back after clearing, in which case nothing to worry about?

No hasn't come back mate. Just going to leave it. Just my ocd that I don't like seeing faults codes when connecting VCDS.

Yeah nor me!
